Protip to fledgling game developers.

When making your fake plastic instrument game, make sure your budget is prioritized. For example, things like investing in a quality user interface and character animation as well as the production of logical song charts should not be too heavily stressed as a primary design goal when the one of the key functions of your product is making everyone aware of the existence of DELICIOUS KFC HOT WINGS.

Hey, fuck you Neversoft.

Rock Band 2 is still the game of the year

Even though I've found a lot of joy in Saints Row 2, WipeOut HD, and now Fable II lately, RB2 still rules them all.

This past week was a release of some Nirvana songs, and this next week will include songs by Siouxie and the Banshees, Silversun Pickups, and the Psychedelic Furs. The week after that, there's 3 songs by the Presidents of the United States of America, an AC/DC Live expansion disc, and 20 free bonus songs (mostly unknowns, but some are pretty great - and there's a Dealership song).

I'm scheming in regards to my old web domain that I never got around to setting up but I still have (hyper-activity.net). More to come. I need to make a logo.

Hm, yes, quite.

England, you knobs.

Edit: Yes, this is a US based magazine, but the cover design is pretty derivative of 80's and early 90's tech geek magazines out of the UK. So my original point still stands.

-So Rock Band 2 is still pretty awesome. CHECK MY BANDS OUT

-The living room is getting some rearranging/cleanup work done shortly. I'm hunting for a good compact computer desk (something around 40" wide or less) and a TV stand (over 40" wide and LCD suitable). If anybody has any recommendations, let me know. I'm also getting a shelf or two, but I know what I want there.

-I can't believe I missed out on the LBP beta. I feel like such a failure.

So overall it was a wash, but the PSU for cheap made it worth it. Also making it worth it was the fact that I was able to use BillMeLater finally - I guess paying off low-limit credit cards really works for that shit.

Next round in a few months:
A second hard drive (perhaps another Samsung if this one works well)
A 20x SATA DVD Burner (Pioneer or LG probably)
A WiFi printer/scanner (because FUCK WIRES)

The great connection between Ricky Steamboat and Area 51, and other Quality of Life updates

-I've had some pain relapses in my right arm and leg, although I partially blame it on bad sleeping habits. I'm already correcting those.

-The next three months will be stupid expensive for me and video games. It really has been since July, but this is the most expensive year for video games since 1996 when I was going crazy over the PS1, Saturn, and late-era SNES at the same time.

-I think I may have solved the eternal mystery of the greatest song of all time, and strangely enough it was one I always knew and was right in front of me all this time - but I'll have to consider this for a few days. I'm pretty sure of this one though. And I'm pretty sure the intro is the part what qualifies it.
